The U.T. of Chandigarh, on June 23, 2026, issued a notification regarding Consent to avail / not to avail the solar facility installed / to be installed by the Engineering Department, UT Chandigarh /CPDL.
The following has been stated:-
•The Chandigarh Administration has asked government employees residing in government accommodation to submit an option/undertaking form indicating whether they wish to avail the rooftop solar facility installed or proposed at their residences.
•The initiative follows the Ministry of Home Affairs' directive to achieve saturation of rooftop solar installations across Union Territories.
•Employees must submit the form through their respective Heads of Department to the House Allotment Committee by July 10, 2026.
•If no response is received by the deadline, it will be presumed that the employee has opted not to use the solar power facility.
